COMCAST LOCAL VIEWERS SELECT “MOST SPIRITED” SCHOOLS
Michigan’s Birmingham Seaholm High School and Indiana’s Delta High School football games to be broadcast on Comcast Local
Southfield, Mich. – Comcast Local – a locally-originated 24-hour regional sports network, broadcasting on cable systems across both Michigan and Indiana – has selected winners of its “Get Your High School on Comcast Local” competition. Votes were tabulated and Comcast Local viewers, in addition to area prep sports fans, selected Seaholm High School (Birmingham, Michigan) and Delta High School (Muncie, Indiana) as the winners. This is the second consecutive year that Delta High School won this competition in Indiana. As winners, each school will have a select football game showcased on Comcast Local this fall. “In its second year, this competition continued to draw strong interest from fans and schools across our coverage area,” said Alisa Cross, Marketing Professional for Comcast Local. “It is important for us to continue our connection to the communities we serve and provide an outlet to showcase the high school sports they are passionate about.” This summer, viewers were asked to cast their votes either by sending an email to Comcast Local, or by visiting one of the Comcast kiosks at their local malls to vote online. Of the many regional entries, Seaholm and Delta high schools emerged with the most votes and were crowned with the title of “Most Spirited” high school. Winners were announced during the Comcast Local Varsity Showcase Preview shows.
"We are excited to once again be the winner of the Comcast Football Game of the Week. Delta fans are proud of their school and all of the good things that are happening this fall at Delta,” said Stan Doughterty, Athletic Director at Delta High School. “We look forward to a great crowd and a fun evening as Comcast visits Delta High School."
On October 12, Comcast Local will present a live broadcast of Delta High School’s game against Shelbyville High School at 7pm.
